Soul Excursion Vol 10 – Lauryn Hill

Welcome back

 2012 Philly Performance

Thank you for sharing the Bowery Ballroom set.

Recently I read a piece about how personal someone took her career moves. Listen here (John Amos/’Good Times’ Character Voice) – when you begin to take it personal then you’ve missed the point. All there is….is to keep it moving as I suggest you do the same and let it do what it do.

“Here is a link to a piece that I was ‘required’ to release immediately, by virtue of the impending legal deadline. I love being able to reach people directly, but in an ideal scenario, I would not have to rush the release of new music… but the message is still there. In light of Wednesday’s tragic loss (of former label mate Chris Kelly), I am even more pressed to YELL this to a multitude that may not understand the cost of allowing today’s unhealthy paradigms to remain unchecked!”

Music is appreciated in so many ways whether it’s the instrumentals (no vocals), the particular use of an instrument be it a horn, percussion, voice etc., the bass-line, melody, in person at a live concert or performance, videos….whatever it is that connects you.  Lauryn Hill, for me, is the best mc in my lifetime. Lauryn delivers applicable lyrical content – all the while standing fearless – in order to give – her divine light of right seen on the left.  Her courage to share is what connects to me….no doubt. It’s all about the music.
